FAQs

Thank you for your interest in adopting from the Southern Nevada Boston Terrier Rescue. Though you may feel our adoption procedures are lengthy, please remember that many of our Boston’s have already been separated from a home, and not always a loving one, so we try very hard to make the adoptions successful for the sake of both the Boston and the new family. The information you provide herein will help us to do just that. Adoptions are not completed unless everyone is happy: you, the Boston, and SNBTR members involved.
Cost
There is no cost to apply for a dog. Adoption Fees range from $200 to $525 with the price going down with age.

Under 1yr $525
1yr-4yr $425
5yrs-8yrs $325
9yrs and up $200

Dogs with ongoing medical conditions, special needs or bonded pairs may have reduced adoption donations at the discretion of the rescue.

Application
Please apply when you feel ready to adopt, as we don’t hold dogs.

The application form will give you the opportunity to tell us which dog(s) you are interested in. However, we will do our best to match you with the right dog based on the information you provide, whether that is the dog(s) you are interested in or a different dog.

You only need to complete one application per household, not per dog of interest.

After completing this application, we invite you to check our website and our Facebook page regularly for new arrivals, and to contact us if you see one that you’d like to know more about.

Applicants will receive an interview and home visit before being approved to adopt dogs.

Processing Time
Time is variable depending on the individual circumstances. It may take us 2 weeks or longer to process your application. We are an all-volunteer organization, we all have jobs and families and other responsibilities in addition to our work with foster dogs.
How an Adopter is Chosen
Our intention is to place each dog in a loving home that is a great fit for the individual and unique needs of each dog, we do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis. We look carefully at each application and follow up on applications that specifically address each dog’s stated needs and best fit the dog’s health, and behavior requirements, so when you are applying, take the time to be specific about how your home and family meets the needs and personality of each dog. Saying “I want that dog” is not enough.
Transport
SNBTR will do our best to help transport any adopted dog within the Southern Nevada area.

Out of area adoptions are only considered under certain circumstances and for special situations. If a dog is being considered for out of area adoption it will be noted on their postings. Most of our dogs will NOT be considered for out of area applicants.

We do NOT ship dogs, if a dog is considered for out of area adoption, the applicant will be required to travel to the Las Vegas/Henderson NV area.

Confidentiality
The information provided will be kept confidential and not shared with parties outside of SNBTR’s organization. If you are looking at other dogs from other organizations, you will need to contact them directly and complete their adoption application as well.
